This is a spectacular, walnut roll top desk which is very functional with its five drawers on the lower half, … Read more This is a spectacular, walnut roll top desk which is very functional with its five drawers on the lower half, two Birdseye maple drawers on the upper half, vertical file capacity on the right side, and eight cubby holes. The handles are burled walnut, as is the panel on the right door. It is beautiful when rolled up and beautiful when rolled down closed. A black leather matting sits embedded in the flat work area.

The desk measures 48 inches at its longest. It is 24 inches deep. When the flat top is pulled out, it adds an additional 10 inches to the depth. So, with the flat part pulled all the way out, the total depth is 34 inches. The opening for your legs measures 26 inches tall by 19 wide. That opening where your legs go can also be used for storage of paper and supplies.

The condition is excellent. The wood is beautiful with interesting, burled grain. The maple smaller drawers have the original intricate brass hardware. There are small areas of wear but nothing that detracts from this outstanding piece. There is more wear on the lower parts -- they are not very visible but some vintage wear. The black leather insert is in great condition. The roll top moves up and down very easily. See less
