Exceptional vintage Sebet Silverman for Nurre Mirror Co. large Chinoiserie wall mirror featuring an intricate Asian-inspired scene rendered in dimensional gold and bronze-toned églomisé decoration.
The expansive mirrored panel depicts a dramatically gnarled tree with delicate branching foliage and two perched birds. The dimensional metallic artwork creates beautiful depth against the reflective mirror surface, while the slim polished gold-tone frame gives the piece its unmistakable Hollywood Regency presence.
The mirror is signed “Sebet” within the artwork and retains its original paper hanging instructions on the reverse, as well as the original model marking 4474C.
Sebet Silverman was an industrial designer and longtime chief designer for the Nurre Mirror Company, known for his distinctive dimensional and églomisé mirror designs. Examples of his work are documented in Chinoiserie and Asian-inspired decorative styles.
