The white exterior gives way … Read more A low porcelain bowl designed by Hans Theo Baumann for Rosenthal Studio-Line in the 1970s. The white exterior gives way to a deep black interior, finished with a delicate gold radial pattern. Precise and finely balanced, the decoration draws the eye toward the center without overwhelming the simple circular form.

Hans Theo Baumann was an important figure in German postwar design, known for his work in porcelain, glass, furniture, and interiors. His designs for Rosenthal are marked by clear geometry and an exact understanding of proportion.
