this unusual model features an elegant and highly graphic construction, with four legs arranged in a diamond configuration and curved bentwood braces supporting the seat.

the broad shaped backrest and wooden seat are both decorated with distinctive vertical grooving, while a continuous bentwood frame forms the back and armrests.

the original fischel paper manufacturer’s label is preserved underneath the seat, confirming its attribution.

made of bent beechwood, the chair retains a beautiful warm honey-colored patina acquired through more than a century of use.

its unusual construction and sculptural silhouette make it a particularly decorative example of early european bentwood furniture.
