I would describe … Read more These are very interesting, and the fact that you have a matched pair is a rare find. I would describe them as large Gothic Revival / Spanish Revival hand-worked iron chandeliers, probably from roughly the late 19th to early 20th century.

What stands out is the construction: roughly 48 inches across, an enormous pierced sheet-iron crown/band, extensive scrollwork forming the deep basket, decorative chains, and those fantastic projecting arms terminating in stylized dragon/griffin heads with flower-shaped candle cups. The sockets and old rubber-type wiring arrangement also look like an early electrification or old electrical installation rather than a recent reproduction. The punched/pierced ornament and irregular hand-worked details are particularly encouraging.

There are surprisingly close high-end comparables. A circa-1900 Spanish wrought-iron chandelier with dragon heads is currently offered at $8,800; a French late-19th-century Gothic Revival iron chandelier with winged dragons. See less
