A striking pair of vintage graduated metal plant stands or display pedestals featuring elaborate openwork construction and an intentionally antiqued ivory finish.
Each stand is beautifully detailed with a geometric latticework top framed by graceful C- and S-scroll metalwork. Raised floral medallions accent each corner, while the tall, slender bases incorporate symmetrical scrolling motifs that give the pair an architectural garden-room quality.
The creamy ivory finish features dark contrasting distressing throughout, creating an intentionally aged appearance and emphasizing the intricate metalwork. This appears to be part of the decorative antiqued finish rather than simply overall paint loss.
The stands are graduated in both height and size, allowing them to be displayed together as a coordinated pair or separately throughout a room. The smaller stand can also be placed on top of the larger stand, although these are not traditional nesting stands and the smaller stand does not slide beneath the larger.
Wonderful as plant stands, sculpture pedestals, conservatory accents, or decorative display stands. Their ornate openwork design works especially well with Hollywood Regency, Mediterranean Revival, traditional garden, romantic conservatory, and eclectic interiors.
