A Kaidan Tansu is a traditional Japanese chest originally intended to serve not only as a cabinet, but as a functional staircase. Today, the steps are also often utilized as surfaces for decorative display.

Relatively good condition. There are a couple of drawers/doors that tend to stay wedged slightly open, though this is not necessarily noticeable at first glance, only when examining the chest closely. There is a long mark/scratch on the back of the chest (visible in the photos), but it is easily concealed by positioning the chest against a wall.
