The Barcalounger Company is the oldest manufacturer of reclining chairs in the United States, originally founded by Edward J. Barcalo in 1896 as the Barcalo Manufacturing Company. Like this chair, their older model recliners were made in North Carolina and known for their high-quality leather and frame construction that lasts a lifetime+. Their newer chairs are now imported from Asia and are not the same quality as the older chairs.
