Signed at the bottom right, it is created by the Venezuelan artist Carlos Zerpa. On the back, a label shows the title and date. Zerpa, a versatile artist trained in Milan, is known for his ability to draw from mythology and historical narratives, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens. In this work, the legendary hand emerging from the lake holding the sword Excalibur, a reference to the myth of King Arthur, is set against a backdrop of modern buildings, replacing traditional wooded landscapes with urban elements such as lights and concrete balconies.
