This refined French side table dates to approximately 1970 and reflects the elegant symmetry and restrained ornamentation of the Louis XVI Revival style. Artisan-crafted in France, it combines warm mahogany, delicate fruitwood inlay and finely cast gilt-bronze ormolu details.
The rectangular top is decorated with linear and geometric fruitwood inlay, creating subtle contrast against the rich mahogany grain. Gilt-bronze mounts accent the corners, apron and drawer, adding a warm golden highlight without overpowering the classical proportions.
A single central drawer provides convenient storage for small items, while the lower shelf offers additional space for books or decorative objects. Four tapered, fluted legs complete the neoclassical silhouette and give the table a light, architectural appearance.
Its compact proportions make it suitable as a bedside table, living-room side table, hallway accent or decorative table beside an armchair.
