Original watercolor on paper by American artist Judith Bledsoe (1938–2013), titled “The Garden II.”
This charming garden composition presents a lush, intimate arrangement of foliage, flowering plants, vessels and garden elements rendered in Bledsoe’s distinctive loose and expressive hand. Layered shades of green, gray, soft earth tones and small accents of red and pink create a wonderfully atmospheric botanical scene.
The watercolor is signed in pencil by Judith Bledsoe at the lower right and retains its original Circle Gallery identification label on the reverse identifying the work as The Garden II and as an original watercolor by Judith Bledsoe.
Bledsoe was an American-born artist who spent much of her life and career in Paris. Her work is recognized for its imaginative, colorful and often whimsical interpretation of figures, interiors, gardens and everyday life.
Presented under glass with a wide pale blush/neutral mat, narrow gilt inner liner and simple light-toned outer frame.
