The two finely modeled male figures reproduce the famous ancient Greek bronze warriors discovered in 1972 in the waters off Riace, Calabria, Italy. Each figure features beautifully articulated classical anatomy, bearded facial features and individually modeled hair, with a warm aged bronze-toned patina highlighting the sculptural detail.

The figures are mounted on a substantial light-colored marble or stone base retaining its original vintage label identifying “Bronzo di Riace” and “Reggio Cal. Italy.”The original monumental Riace Bronzes date to the 5th century B.C. and are among the most celebrated surviving examples of ancient Greek bronze sculpture.
