Hand-carved, this piece features a kneeling or crouching Inuk figure holding a seal and dressed in a traditional heavy-hooded parka (amauti).

The sculpture beautifully showcases Amm's signature stylistic hallmarks, including deeply incised geometric borders along the parka trims, finely detailed facial expressions, and a highly stylized, voluminous form. Carved from a rich, dark charcoal-black soapstone, the piece features a subtle sheen that accentuates the stone's natural gray and white veining.

The base of the sculpture is fully documented and meticulously hand-etched by the artist. It includes the copy write date, his full signature, official Arctic identification numbers, and local co-op initials indicating its origin in Akulivik, Quebec.
