Organic Edges: Framed entirely in a thick, masterfully contoured solid wood edge banding showcasing a highly figured "Tiger Oak" grain pattern with distinct, shimmering medullary ray flecks. 

Reinforced Joinery: The base utilizes traditional interlocking mortise-and-tenon through-stretcher construction. It is factory-reinforced with heavy-duty steel screws hidden inside deep counter-bored recesses, providing absolute, lifetime structural stability.

Configuration: Includes one (1) Captain’s armchair featuring sculpted, flat "paddle" arms and five (5) streamlined side chairs.360° Visual Appeal: Features an architectural barrel backrest built with a rhythmic series of vertical wood spindles (slats). The cushions secure elegantly via signature wrap-around fabric straps looping through the rear frames.

Verified Japanese Hardware: Every chair retains its original industrial steel swivel mechanism stamped and certified by the renowned KOYO Corporation (Osaka, Japan), ensuring a heavy-duty, silent, and fluid 360-degree rotation.

There is an unusual vintage “Otsuka” label with circular emblem on one of the chairs, an intriguing clue to the set’s original Japanese provenance that has not yet been definitively identified. It is possible that these were commissioned by the Otsuka Corporation.

Vintage Textile: Upholstered in original, sturdy mustard-gold mid-century slub weave fabric with an abstract atomic cross-hatch grid pattern. All chairs are heavy, supportive, and exceptionally comfortable.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with normal, honest signs of historical wear and zero structural damage. Solid wood frames, trestle base, and tiger oak profiles are structurally flawless. The protective melamine top is stable and well-preserved with light everyday surface wear. The original atomic textile remains strong and tight; a few seat bases exhibit some cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. All six smooth-gliding KOYO hardware tracks rotate flawlessly.
