A single upward tab at the top edge marks where the door once fit its frame, beneath which a band of scalloped arcs gives way to a dense field of zigzag chevron hatching. Lower on the panel, a pair of large concentric-ring motifs sit side by side like a pair of watching eyes — a bold, symmetrical composition and one of the more graphic reads of the tradition's ring-and-hatch vocabulary. The carving throughout is deep enough to throw strong shadow in raking light, a hallmark of the Igbo relief style.

Genuine age is evident: a chip and small area of wood loss along the lower right edge, fine cracking with the grain, and an uneven, weathered patina built up over decades of handling. Mounted on its custom stand, the door's bold twin-ring motif and confident scale make it a striking focal point — well suited to anchoring a hallway, entry, or the wall above a low console.
