Beautiful vintage handmade studio pottery lidded vessel featuring a warm earthy brown clay body with an expressive cream and white glaze.
The piece has wonderful organic character, with visible throwing lines, irregular glaze movement, exposed stoneware, and a substantial handmade form. The fitted lid is topped with a tall flared knob, giving the vessel a distinctive sculptural silhouette.
The bottom bears an incised potter’s mark/signature. The artist is currently unidentified.
A beautiful decorative piece for a wabi sabi, organic modern, rustic, Japandi, California casual, or collected interior. Display it on open shelving, a console, kitchen counter, or alongside other handmade ceramics.
