The face is divided into horizontal registers: a band of shallow scalloped arcs, capped top and bottom by narrow molded ridges, gives way to a dense field of diagonal chevron hatching, repeating twice down the length of the panel. It's a purely geometric reading of the tradition, with no anthropomorphic figures or lock hardware — the pattern carries the visual weight on its own.

Genuine antique age shows throughout: a substantial crack runs along the plank seam, with two smaller cracks at the upper right and lower edge, along with some warping across the panel's width and an unevenly aged, weathered finish consistent with decades of use. None of this reads as damage — it's the honest wear of a working antique. Mounted on its custom stand, the door's narrow, vertical proportions make it a strong graphic accent — suited to flanking a doorway, standing alone in a hallway niche, or anchoring a reading corner where its banded pattern reads clearly from a distance.
