Here is a beautiful antique 2-over-3 chest of drawers, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Recently refinished in a rich Cameroon Green, the updated color gives this traditional piece a fresh, classic look while allowing its wonderful original form and architectural details to take center stage.
The chest features two smaller upper drawers over three generous full-width drawers. I especially love the unusual beveled fronts on the upper drawers, which add subtle dimension and make the piece feel a little more special. Rounded front corners, inset paneled sides, turned feet, petite keyholes, and simple round knobs complete the design.
The monochromatic green finish works beautifully with the antique form—updated enough to feel at home in a contemporary interior while retaining all of the character of an older piece.
With its substantial size and five drawers of storage, it would be wonderful in a bedroom, entry, living room, or anywhere a handsome storage piece is needed.
