This two-piece silver-plated serving set was designed by Royal Arden Hickman for Three Crowns Silversmiths of Denmark, circa 1960. Hickman came to tableware design by way of Hollywood, where he worked as a prop maker, and it shows — his pieces carry a quiet glamour paired with the clean, organic lines of Scandinavian modernism. The silver-over-copper construction gives both pieces real weight and a luster that polishes up beautifully.

The tray is Hickman's "Ingrid" pattern: a shallow round bowl form with a sculptural, organic handle and finely crimped edges, equally suited to hors d'oeuvres at a cocktail party or as a stand-alone decorative piece.

We've given both pieces a gentle polish, but deliberately preserved the natural patina — the subtle variation in the silver's surface tells the story of decades of gracious entertaining.

Very good vintage. Cleaned and polished. No dents or damage on either piece. Tray shows only slight evidence of age and wear; cheese server carries a bit more honest wear.
