An exceptionally rare pair of Scandinavian-inspired wall sconces from the 1970s, combining beautifully crafted solid teak backplates with handwoven natural fiber shades of remarkable sculptural character. The circular teak mounting plates provide a warm architectural foundation, while the dome-shaped woven shades—resembling finely crafted sisal baskets—create a captivating interplay of light, texture, and shadow. Depending on the bulb selected, these sconces produce dramatically different lighting effects: a frosted bulb offers a soft, tranquil glow, while a clear bulb emphasizes the intricate weave, projecting expressive organic patterns across the surrounding walls. Their honest use of natural materials, restrained design language, and handcrafted appearance make them an outstanding choice for Scandinavian, Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, Japandi, Mid-Century Modern, or sophisticated contemporary interiors. They are equally striking in a living room, study, bedroom, hallway, boutique hotel, or executive office, where they add warmth and sculptural presence without overwhelming the space. Each sconce is fitted with a standard E26/E27 socket and can be used worldwide with appropriate country-specific bulbs, including modern LED light sources. The fixtures mount directly to the wall via their solid teak backplates. Please note that a small recessed wall opening is recommended behind each mounting plate to discreetly conceal the electrical connection. These uncommon wall lights are increasingly difficult to find as a matching pair and represent a wonderful example of 1970s organic design, where craftsmanship, natural materials, and atmospheric illumination come together in perfect harmony. Dimensions * Diameter: 26 cm (10.24 in.) * Depth: 14 cm (5.51 in.) Condition Very good vintage condition with minor age-related wear consistent with careful use.
