A contemporary print after Himalaya (1968) by Gerhard Richter, one of the most influential artists of the post-war period.
During the late 1960s Richter produced a series of landscapes derived from photographic sources. Characterised by subtle blurring and tonal shifts, these works occupy a distinctive position between photography and painting.
Painted in 1968, Himalaya presents a monumental mountain form that simultaneously emerges and dissolves within an atmospheric haze characteristic of Richter's landscape works.
This 2021 edition was produced by Daco Verlag using a five-colour hybrid printing process on 260 g Rives paper. Issued in a limited edition of 500 examples and accompanied by its publisher's certificate, the print captures the tonal subtlety and spatial ambiguity of the original composition. Publisher text to the reverse further verifies authenticity.
The print is professionally presented in a bespoke gallery frame commissioned to Cally & Cross specification, float mounted and fitted with museum-grade anti-reflective glazing. Labeled by Maker,Labeled with Country of Origin
