Roman Bronze Candelabrum - Lampstand With Bronze Oil Lamp modeled after Egyptian lamps with the crocodile feet and Nubian-faced lamp. A Rare lamp, the tall stand has a hanging harp that allows the lamp to swing and move 360 degrees. The notable feature of the stand is the Corinthian capital on the stem. (Corinthian capitals date to the 4th century BC). Finely made with the best classical verdigris patina over the whole.
Beautiful and exotic oil lamp from ancient Egypt by way of Roman trade.
The measurements are 17.75" tall, and the base measures 6" by 6" overall.
