This item is a vintage glazed red terracotta and ceramic decorative bust depicting young Alexandre Brongniart, originally sculpted by the renowned French Neoclassical artist Jean-Antoine Houdon. Reproductions and vintage decorative interpretations of this iconic child bust were widely produced in varying glazes, chalkware and porcelain finishes throughout the 20th century.
This particular bust does not have any chips or cracks as seen with my observation. She is a beautiful cherry red with rich maroon undertones and a gold base.
