This pierced ceramic insert features the beloved, classic Willow pattern with an intricate geometric border, stylized Chinoiserie landscapes, and the iconic paired birds. Perforated throughout to allow juices or water to separate from meat or fish, it includes a central finger-lift hole for easy removal from its matching serving platter. While it is unsigned—a very common trait for early 19th-century transferware—the deep, rich cobalt blue glaze and fine detail indicate excellent Staffordshire craftsmanship from the late Georgian or early Victorian era. At just over 8 inches wide, this smaller, harder-to-find size variation makes a spectacular addition to a blue and white plate wall display, a curated dresser vignette, or an antique ironstone collection.

The drainer measures 8.25 x 5.25 x 0.25 inches.
