The driver is shown at the front of the scene wearing a traditional turban and long flowing coat, creating an exotic and wonderfully detailed Orientalist-inspired design.

The deeply cast iron figures have been finished with an aged gilt patina that highlights the intricate details and gives the pair a warm, antique appearance. The substantial weight makes these bookends both decorative and functional, providing excellent support for a collection of books.

The original old green felt remains on the bases, adding to their vintage character and charm.

The bookends have no hallmarks or labels.
