Expertly … Read more A grand, late 19th-century Italian Renaissance Revival three-piece parlor set, comprising a three-seat settee and two matching high-back armchairs. Expertly crafted, this suite features rich wood frames detailed with hand-carved classical motifs, parcel-gilt highlights, and incised gold fill throughout.

Sculptural Crests: Each piece is crowned with a dramatic carved crest centering a dimensional cherub/putto bust, framed by scrolling foliage, acanthus leaves, and rolled ribbon cartouches with gilded accenting.

Architectural Elements: Fluted side posts topped with carved leaf finials anchor the backs, paired with incised botanical/leaf engraving across the top rails.

Armrests & Supports: Sweeping armrests feature relief-carved leaf and scale accents, terminating in padded elbow rests. Supported by turned, fluted, and tapered front legs with gold fill detailing.

Upholstery: Professionally upholstered in a gold and light olive geometric lattice/trellis pattern accented with small red/burgundy embroidered tuft nodes. The fabric remains in very clean, ready-to-use condition.

Condition Details: Frame is structurally sound with minor age-appropriate surface wear, light scuffing, and gentle rubbing to the gilt finish. Some wood loss at the capital of some of the carved columns (see photos).Upholstery is exceptionally clean with no major stains, rips, or odors. See less
