The funnel shape serves not as a decorative object, but as a functional loudspeaker: it was used to direct and amplify sound in environments where electronic amplification was unavailable—for example, in ports, factories, sports fields, train stations, or military installations.

The speaking tube is made of solid copper, bears traces of hand hammering, and is covered with a brownish-gold natural patina that authentically preserves its age and history of use.
