The sideboard has an arrangement of three large panelled cupboard doors with an arrangement of fixed shelves. The left hand cupboard has two large smooth running drawers with twisted ironwork handles and baize lining to each. Each of the cupboards have large iron work hinges, decorative escutcheons and locks complemented with original oversized keys. All locks and keys work smoothly and are forged in the gothic style. The base sits on a large plinth and raised on a pair of thick sledge feet to either end. The buffet is complemented with an oak panelled back split into six sections with supports. The sideboard is reassuringly heavy with ample storage space that exudes a rich chestnut honey brown colour throughout. This wonderfully presented dresser would be the focal point of any farmhouse kitchen or hospitality venture. Please note that the castor wheels beneath do not make up part of the sideboard and they are used only for easy manoeuvrability within the studio. French, circa 1950.
