A superb Art Deco figured walnut leather top pedestal desk, made in England and dating from the 1930’s.
This is of amazing quality, it is beautifully constructed from solid and veneered walnut. It is very study and heavy for its size, there is beautiful joinery with fine, hand cut dovetailed joints on the drawers. Above each bank of drawers there is a tray slide shelf that pulls out, even the surface of the slide shelves have gorgeous walnut grain patterns. There is a brown inset leather top with beautiful gold tooling in the Greek key design. The back of this is nicely finished, so it can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb for its age.
