A rare and highly sought-after set of six original Model 155 “Shell Chairs”, designed by the renowned Danish designer Børge Mogensen and produced by Søborg Møbler in Denmark during the 1950s. The model is considered one of Mogensen’s most elegant early dining chair designs, combining exceptional comfort with the honest craftsmanship that helped define the Danish Modern movement.
The chairs feature beautifully shaped teak veneered shell seats and backrests, elegantly contrasted by solid light oak frames with finely tapered legs. The organic curved silhouette of the teak shells is complemented by the refined joinery and subtle detailing of the oak structure, resulting in a design that appears light and graceful while remaining remarkably sturdy and comfortable.
Børge Mogensen is regarded as one of the most influential figures of Danish Modern design. Together with contemporaries such as Hans J. Wegner and Arne Jacobsen, he established the international reputation of Danish furniture through designs that emphasized functionality, craftsmanship, and timeless aesthetics.
This set retains a wonderful warm patina acquired over decades of careful use. The teak displays rich grain patterns and deep coloration, while the oak frames provide a beautiful visual contrast. An increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of six original Model 155 chairs, ideal for both collectors and interiors seeking authentic mid-century Scandinavian design. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,

or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
