An outstanding example of high-class Art Deco craftsmanship – a unique piece on the antiques market.

The lamp was cast in bronze, a material more expensive than brass, which produced a more beautiful effect; the chiselling allowed for the creation of more precise, finer details. Bronze is also one of the most durable materials, ensuring the longevity of the piece. It was silver-plated to achieve the desired colour effects.

The chandelier’s construction is solid and quite substantial. The long, hexagonal-sectioned stem is adorned with fluting at both the top and bottom. The stem transitions into a wide, hexagonal base, from which six arms extend. The fluted arm rod has an interesting shape – it widens outwards and, at its widest point, curves upwards to form a decorative, thick ring serving as a holder for the glass, goblet-shaped shade.

These unique, glass-blown shades have a slightly opalescent, matt finish. Their rims are formed by round, cascading droplets of solidified, transparent glass.

Intriguing decorations cover the ceiling-facing section and the underside of the lid supporting the arms. They are formed from repeating, overlapping triangular motifs, separated by bands of reddish, unsilvered bronze. The motifs arrange themselves into a multi-pointed, multiplied star. The decorative elements have an interesting texture with fine indentations, creating an effect similar to the texture of leather.

The size of the unobtrusive, well-balanced decorative elements, with their varied textures – ranging from smooth and glossy to almost entirely matt – which, when repeated, complement and contrast with one another, testifies to the outstanding quality of the design.
