While living in Tokyo, Japan due to corporate transfers between 1975-1978 and, again,1985-1988 I collected detailed hand-painted antique Japanese porcelains from various antique stores in Japan.
. Now I am a retired professional interior designer and, for years, was a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
. Currently, I am beginning to list my collection of blue and white antique Imari plates and other antique blue and white Imari pieces, antique Japanese colored Japanese Imari rice/soup bowls with lids, other colored Imari and some Chinese antique porcelains.
. This special bowl with detailed hand painting with horse, crane and beautifully detailed floral edging inside and outside is from the later part of EDO Period (1603-1868) just before Meiji period.
. This bowl was originally made as a high-grade piece due to its painting of the horse and other very excellent and gold colors.
. The bottom is special as it is adorned with Irises.
