Professionally fitted to … Read more A one-of-a-kind French Louis XV–style game table, newly customized with an exceptionally beautiful powder-blue leather playing surface. Professionally fitted to follow the table’s elaborate serpentine outline, the leather transforms a traditional French form into something fresh, sophisticated and completely unexpected.
The shaped top rests above a carved scalloped apron with a discreet storage drawer, supported by slender cabriole legs ending in delicate pieds-de-biche feet. The warm, time-softened wood creates a marvelous contrast with the immaculate blue leather—a combination that feels collected and antique while remaining wonderfully current.
Likely made in France during the early 20th century, circa 1920–1940, the table may serve as a card table, writing table, intimate breakfast table or striking occasional table. It would be particularly chic in a bedroom, dressing room, sunroom or sophisticated living space.
Revised condition
Good antique condition with expected wear, rubbing, marks and tonal variation to the wooden frame, lending it an authentic time-softened appearance. The powder-blue leather playing surface appears to have been recently and professionally replaced and presents beautifully. See less
