The plate is exquisitely hand painted, signed "Mireille," with a center floral motif with heavy gold trim surrounding it. The wide outer rim features a continuous, densely packed garland of multi-colored garden roses and accent blossoms, a defining motif of lavish 19th-century French cabinet plates.
Antique Limoges porcelain was made by various companies in Limoges, France. The city is known as the porcelain capital of the world because it's the only place in the entire planet that has the clay called 'Kaolin'. This clay is pure white and translucent, and it's used for all the Limoges creations.
