Striking matched pair of antique footed rectangular serving dishes in the highly collectible "Mandarin" pattern by Bristol Alkalon China. Produced in England during the late 19th century to early 20th century, these pieces are prime examples of Victorian Chinoiserie transferware.
The "Mandarin" pattern features an intricate, vivid flow blue landscape with traditional Chinese pavilions, willow trees, and stylized floral borders. The footed rectangular silhouette gives these bowls an elegant profile that is highly coveted by designers for bringing symmetry and grandmillennial charm to sideboards, mantels, or dining tables.
The bowls each measure 8 x 6 x 3 inches tall. Markers mark on the underside of each piece.
