A spectacular and highly decorative vintage 20th-century Italian majolica amphora-form vase hand-painted in the traditional Istoriato (storytelling) historicist style. The front panel features an exquisitely detailed landscape vignette showcasing an architectural hillside castle and stone bridge tower rendered in classical cobalt blue monochrome shades.
The central landscape is framed with a rich, vibrant polychrome border brimming with yellow acanthus leaves, classical scroll motifs, and colorful floral bursts. Sculptural, serpentine double handles are finished in a golden ochre wash and frame the flared neck beautifully. Adding a layer of sophisticated, maximalist texture, the vase is adorned with a thick, vintage braided cord and prominent silk-style hanging tassels draped elegantly around the collar.
