Antique oak and glass counter display case containing a full assortment of detachable men's shirt collars. Three vertical brass rods hold a series of labeled collar forms behind glass panels, each collar marked with a Ferguson model name such as "Marcy," "Saxon," and "Radnor." The craftsmanship and typography reflect early 20th-century haberdashery standards, when detachable collars were a key component of professional dress.
The C. W. Ferguson Collar Co., based in Troy, New York-then known as the "Collar City"-was a prominent manufacturer of starched linen collars during the early 1900s, supplying fine menswear retailers across the United States.
