1992 painting by Seattle outsider artist Ree Brown (American, 1927-2014). Gouache on paper. Measures approximately 6” w x 5”h. Pencil signed and date in lower right corner.
Ree Brown was an entirely self-taught artist who did not begin drawing and painting until the mid-1970s. He is highly recognized for his intimate, small-scale portraits of "no one in particular," alongside his iconic paintings of cats, dogs, and birds. His work is celebrated in prominent collections of 20th-century American folk and outsider art.
