An elegant pair of antique Dutch Delft Blue knobbel vases (Bulbous bottle vases) believed to date from the early 20th century and originating from Holland. Each vase is individually hand-painted in rich cobalt blue with traditional floral bouquets, stylised blossoms and ornamental borders against a warm white ground.
Dimensions: Each vase measures 27 cm high × 16 cm wide × 16 cm deep (10.6 × 6.3 × 6.3 inches).
The sculptural form features a rounded bulbous body, slender shaped neck and flared rim, creating the distinctive silhouette associated with classic Dutch knobbelvazen. Subtle differences in the painted decoration emphasise their authentic handmade character.
Both vases retain a beautiful glossy glaze with desirable, naturally developed craquelure, adding depth and historic charm without affecting their condition. The undersides are marked “Delft Blue – Made in Holland – Handwork – FG” with a crown emblem.
Presented as a matching pair, these decorative Delftware vases are ideal for displaying flowers or as statement objects on a console table, mantelpiece, sideboard or dining table. Their timeless blue-and-white palette is particularly suited to Dutch traditional, country-house, grandmillennial, cottagecore and classical interiors.
The vases originate from a private Dutch collection.
