This elegant pair of Czechoslovak lounge armchairs, model 6952, was designed by Jaroslav Šmídek for TON during the 1960s. The chairs feature curved dark wooden armrests, tapered legs and upholstered seats and backrests in a teal patterned fabric with contrasting light piping and decorative button details.
The relaxed seating angle and balanced proportions make the armchairs suitable as lounge chairs, reading chairs or statement seating. The chairs remain in their original vintage condition and show natural signs of age and use consistent with their period. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
