It originates from central europe, from the early 20th century, within the tradition of domestic copper.

the copper cauldron served to heat water, cook or make preserves over the fire. The copper spread the heat evenly, and the swing handle allowed it to be hung.

the body is hand-beaten copper, with a wide mouth and rounded base, and a forged iron handle held by two lugs. The rim is reinforced with a rolled edge.

the copper shows the warm, uneven patina of use, with hammer marks and the odd dent. The surface reads authentic, with no restoration to mask it.

today it serves as a planter, decorative pail or open kitchen piece. It fits rustic, mediterranean and eclectic interiors, where it brings warmth and material presence.
