CAn exceptional and highly collectible piece of vintage British art pottery, this vibrant vase was produced by Royal Winton (Grimwades Ltd.) in Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa the 1930s. Featuring a beautifully executed design that bridges the brand's sought-after "Crazy Paving" and "Carnation" patterns, this piece perfectly embodies the bold, geometric, and stylized aesthetic of the late Art Deco era.
Design & ArtistryThe vase showcases a stunning, thickly hand-enamelled arrangement of vibrant yellow, orange, and autumn-toned stylized floral motifs. The flowers are set against a rich, multi-toned ground of striking greens and warm browns. True to the iconic "Crazy Paving" motif, the design is sectioned by distinct crackled accent borders. The entire piece is finished with a striking, radiant opalescent lustre glaze that catches the light beautifully from every angle. Lustre glaze remains bright and highly iridescent. Stamped on the base with the official printed Royal Winton Grimwades, Made in England mark, along with painted pattern numbers.
