This is my FIRST restored piece of furniture. I inherited this charming vintage five-drawer chest. It features elegant traditional lines, gently curved drawer fronts, tapered legs, and a beautifully shaped overhanging top.
This special piece has been in my family for generations and belonged to my grandparents, who hailed from Pottsville, PA. Coal mining country. I believe to be 70+ years old. My Pop-pop had painted many decades earlier in light green tones.
So restore the dresser, I sanded it down and refinished it in Behr Hidden Gem, satin finish, which is a sophisticated deep blue-green that shifts beautifully with the light. To make it pop, I sourced decorative brass-tone knobs that feature an intricate peacock and feather motif. I still have the old wooden knobs! I can include those if interested.
The five drawers provide generous storage, while the tall, narrow proportions make this piece particularly versatile for a bedroom, guest room, dressing area, hallway, or entryway.
Each drawer includes a removable corrugated cardboard liner. These can be relpaced at new owner's preference.
