A striking vintage handcrafted leaded stained-glass architectural panel combining richly colored opalescent art glass with a strong geometric composition.
Beautifully mottled blue and turquoise glass forms the central repeating diamond motif, surrounded by a contrasting border of streaked yellow-green colored glass. Dimensional amber-yellow faceted glass jewels punctuate the design, catching and reflecting natural light.
The glass itself is particularly appealing. Rather than uniform transparent color, the blue sections have pronounced movement and tonal variation, ranging from turquoise and blue to milky white and smoky deeper tones.
Individual pieces of colored glass are fitted within metal channels with visible soldered joints throughout. A substantial metal perimeter completes the narrow architectural form.
At approximately 18 inches long by just under 7 inches wide, the proportions make the panel especially versatile for use in a window, as a cabinet insert, incorporated into an architectural installation or displayed as decorative art glass.
Three matching panels are available, each sold individually. Used together, the three create a particularly dramatic architectural grouping.
