This is an authentic early 20th century Arts and Crafts Mission oak library desk. It features the clean geometry and honest craftsmanship of the era. The piece is constructed of solid American white oak with a flush fit tabletop and a classic overhanging lip. The side panels have vertical wooden slats which are a signature hallmark of period workshops like Brooks Manufacturing or the Lifetime Furniture Company.
Collector Details and Authenticity
Joinery: The single central drawer features beautifully preserved interlocking dovetail joints.Hardware: It retains the original round solid wooden knobs.
Historical Markings: The underside of the drawer has the builder assembly number 387 written in pencil.
Condition: The desk has excellent structural integrity. The wood has a rich amber brown patina. It is entirely original and unaltered. There are no modern modifications, sanding, or structural cuts.
This is a timeless, functional piece perfect for a modern office, study, or living space.
