Vintage reproduction metal plaques used as templates for brass rubbing. It feature replicas of historic monumental brass funerary effigies found in English churches.
Because historical churches across England have largely banned the practice of physical monument rubbing to prevent friction wear, these commercial template plaques have developed their own collector market as unique pieces of mid-century British travel memorabilia and dark academia decor.
Wall art -Faux granite stone wall hanging with simple, eye-hook mounted metal chain is original to these souvenir plaques, showing they were sold dual-purpose: as a template for rubbing and as a ready-to-hang wall sculpture.
