Excellent condition for age and use. Warm beech wood and original brown wool upholstery.
The seat gently tilts the pelvis forward and encourages a natural, dynamic, and upright spine. Therefore, the abdomen and lower back muscles engage to keep the spine upright and the body balanced. Subsequently strengthening the core’s back and stomach muscles and preventing back, neck, and shoulder tension. Most importantly, the angle between the upper and lower body increases. Greatly improving circulation as the body moves from an active to a relaxed one.
If you're working from home, the classic Balans Variable chair fits with all interiors and serves as an ideal desk chair, the perfect solution between a regular chair and a balance ball.
An instantly recognizable design icon. First introduced at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in Copenhagen in 1979, Variable was one of the first prototypes derived from the balans concept, by Hans Christian Mengshoel. As its name suggests, the chair allows for variation in all kinds of different positions. Its curved runners allow for gentle rocking motions while a tilted seat enables an open hip angle. The two cushions beneath the seat can be used to rest your shins, one foot, both, or neither by placing your feet on the ground. You can also turn around or sit sideways if you so, please. The chair is designed as an open construction, free of mechanical adjustment parts. It is lightweight and can easily be moved around.
To save on shipping I have disassembled the chair. tWeighs 15 pounds, ships flat and easily reassembles with an allen wrench or hex bit I will include. All pieces have been clearly marked for reassembly.
