Hand-blown Murano glass in a smoky rose-amethyst, threaded with fine white filigrana stripes and pressed through a hand-scrolled wrought iron cage. Attributed to Seguso, Italy, mid-20th century. The latticino work is the tell — those white canes are laid in by hand before the piece is ever blown, a technique Venetian glassmakers have guarded for five centuries. Lit, it throws a warm plum glow with the threads reading like fine lace.
