Made in Italy, the lamp has an unusual sculptural silhouette with a shallow bowl-form body set above a stepped square base and two candle-form lights.

Beautiful Neoclassical decoration appears throughout, with delicate scrolling palmette and foliate motifs encircling the bowl and base. The painted tole shade features an especially lovely musical vignette depicting a lyre and pan pipes intertwined with leafy branches and foliage, all rendered in black against the terracotta ground.

The shade is supported by a central brass rod and can be raised or lowered using the wonderfully detailed arrow-shaped adjustment screw. A decorative brass finial at the top completes the design. The two candle-form sockets accommodate smaller-base bulbs, giving the lamp a lovely traditional glow beneath the oval shade.

A wonderfully decorative Italian lamp with a great mix of classical detailing and playful form. The terracotta and black palette feels special and modern, while the sculptural shape makes it just as beautiful unlit as when in use.
