Edna Hibel (MA 1917-2014),"Young Manchu"
Custom Framed Lithograph on Porcelain Plaque, embellished with painting, screen printed gilding and layers of decoration. Artist signed in paint lower right.
The artist has intentionally left areas of the porcelain bare in order to accentuate the face, headdress and the garment. I've included some photos that seem to catch this pretty detail; where the shifting glimmers of porcelain catch the viewer's eye and add dimension.
Pristine condition, no damage to the porcelain, artwork or framing noted. The custom wooden frame with Asian style stencil decorations measures 18" x 20 1/4".
Price label verso; total for the artwork and framing was $2350 at the time of purchase.
